DAINGERFIELD STATE PARK A pleasant shady park with armadillos, fishing and swimming.
First frame show Barbara in the shade, son John and author fishing, and a view of the lake. At night we saw quite a few armadillos.
TYLER Famous for the Municipal Rose Garden with 38,000 bushes representing 500 species. Very impressive. Also a commercial center for shipping roses about the country.
PALESTINE Pronounced Palastine. A historic town with Dogwood and Pecan trees. Eilenberger's Butternut Baking Company bakes and ships succulent pecan cakes of all varieties. See State Information for details.
NACOGDOCHES Historic town of 33,000.
